Food Hygiene News 12 April 2021

Alim’confiance is a site enabling consumers to find out the results of health checks carried out in restaurants, catering establishments and food businesses in France and overseas. Between December 2018 and December 2019, 41,779 companies were checked.

The majority of these controls were deemed satisfactory (94%) and only 5.8% of the establishments inspected obtained a rating of “to improve” and 0.3% “to correct”.

It is in Martinique (4% of establishments inspected) and Guadeloupe (14% of establishments inspected) that food hygiene is the worst.

The worst sectors for this year 2019 in France and overseas are bakeries, pastry shops, chocolate factories and ice cream parlors. In 18.8% of cases, their hygiene levels are “to improve” or “to correct”.
