International tea day

A cup of tea is required today! And yes, today is International Tea Day! & # 127861;

Did you know that tea is the second most consumed drink in the world after water, for its antioxidant capacities. However, although tea has an excellent reputation, it is advisable to stick to the recommended doses: 3 cups of tea per day and to space them out between meals at least an hour (morning, noon and evening).

To find out / understand everything, let’s retrace the history, the concept of tea!

The origin of tea

The tea has its origin in China, all teas come from the base of the plant called "Camelia Sinensi". The camelia sinensi, is an evergreen tree that grows in the tropics. High humidity, sun and heavy rain are the ideal conditions for its cultivation.

The different types of tea and its benefits:

Green tea

Green tea has many virtues, empty of calories, but rich in antioxidants. This drink is full of health benefits. It allows you to hydrate while enjoying a delicious flavor. The benefits are numerous: prevention of cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes, to keep the figure, its relaxing properties (...) Ideally drink it in the middle of the day.

Black tea

Black tea is green tea that has been completely oxidized. Ideally, drink it in the morning to start the day off on the right foot. NB: It is more loaded with theine than the others. The benefits of a good cup of black tea will be cardiovascular disease, cancer as well, diarrhea and asthma.

White tea

White tea, a lightly oxidized tea, rich in antioxidants and vitamins and lower in caffeine than most other teas. White tea is synonymous with "health" tea. Indeed, it presents impressive benefits: an improvement in oral health, reproductive health, brain health, and cholesterols.

Blue tea

Blue tea also known as Oolong tea or black dragon. It partially has oxidized leaves, in fact it is located between unoxidized green tea and black tea which has undergone oxidation. NB: For optimal tasting, it is important to infuse the Oolong tea in boiling water of around 95 degrees. The infusion can last up to 7-8 minutes. However, the dosage should be moderate at around 2g per 20cl.

In terms of virtues, blue tea helps burn fat tissue faster than other varieties of tea. Oolong is also able to speed up the metabolism and reduce the accumulation of fat in the body.

Yellow tea

Yellow tea is a tea made from green tea, the leaves are stored after the oxidation process has been blocked, the phenol they contain produces after some time an auto-oxidation which gives the leaves and the cup a sweet and tasty bouquet.

NB: The benefits of yellow teas are similar to white tea.

In terms of preparation

Ideally, the tea is drunk lukewarm / hot. For a successful tasting, the preparation of tea requires a few steps to be followed in order to be able to appreciate its taste and its subtlety.

To begin with, the basis is to heat the water in a saucepan or kettle, with a temperature of 70 to 100 ° C,

For loose tea

In terms of dosage, you are free to choose the amount of tea you want according to your tastes. Ideally, you should put in the teapot a teaspoon per cup (2 to 2.5 g). Then, pour hot water directly over the leaves and let steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Do not hesitate to stir the water with a spoon before serving,

For the tea bag

It’s pretty easy! Tea bags are easy to prepare and dose. Don’t hesitate to stir the water with a spoon before serving. Today there are several kinds of bags: paper, cotton (...) and tea shapes: round, pyramid (...)

For soluble tea

There is also soluble tea in the form of powder or granules of varying sizes. In terms of preparation, pour 1 to 2 teaspoons of soluble tea, according to your taste. Don’t hesitate to stir the water with a spoon as well
